>Ugh..
Six months, that's half a year. It's also how long it's been since this site was last updated. I'm ashamed of myself, really. I never intended for it to happen, it just kind of.. Did. But I do have a reasonable explanation at least (if anyone still comes here, I probably lostmy regular visitors.. All three of them.). It all started around September of last year, I was innocently browsing Ebay and came across an auction that advertised Red Hat Linux 8.0. Being the curious type I couldn't resist taking a look, especially for $5.00. Well I looked.. Then I bid, then I won.

I received the CDs approximately a week later and brought them to my computer, eager to install and test this new operating system. During the installation I choose to have the Windows distribution currently installed overwritten (A fatal mistake.) thinking that I could just go get a second hard drive I had set aside. About 2/3rds of the way through the installer froze. With a frown I shut the computer off, turned it back on, and tried again with the same results.

I E-mailed the seller as soon as I could and without so much as a question he agreed to send an entire new set of disks. While I waited for the new disks to arrive I installed the secondary hard drive and set up Windows. Soon after I discovered, to my horror, that there was something severely wrong with it and that it would only run certain programs, none of them ones I wanted or needed. Finally I gave up and did all I could do: I waited.

About a week later the second set of CDs arrived and I immediately tried to install them. I inserted the first disc, booted the computer and started installing. Again, about 2/3rds through the installer crashed. Disappointed I again E-mailed the seller, who told me that he would test the disks himself and assured me that it wouldn't happen again.

Later I received an E-mail from him stating that there had been an error during the transfer of the files over a network and the image of the third disc had been corrupted. He told me that he re-transferred the file and checked it before burning a third set of discs which he would send out the next day. Again I waited A week and, almost a month after purchase, I received the third set of discs and finally got Linux installed on my system.

"Well that explains some things, but what about the other five months?" I'm sure your asking. Well I've been somewhat busy with my new friend Linux, when I started five months ago I didn't know a thing about Linux. To me "rm -r /*.*" (a command that removes every file on the hard drive, very bad.) and "startx" (the command to start the graphical interface) looked like the same thing; gibberish.

Most of the past few months have been spent learning about Linux and searching for a way to get Windows up and running on my system again. I've learned a great deal and come a long ways (when I started Linux didn't even recognize that my GeForce 2 Video card had 3D acceleration *sigh*) but I (regrettably) failed to update the site.

There is good news as we reach the end of the story. During my adventures in the wonderful world of Linux I happened across PHP; An amazing web oriented scripting language that doesn't require any sort of plug-in or download (like Javascript and Java) and doesn't increase download time on pages. Immediately I took an interest and as I write this I can code about anything I can come up with using PHP.. Including a completely revamped site. :D

As part of the new site I will probably end up with an actual domain name which means, among other things, that there will be no popups, pop unders, pop overs, pop corn (err, sorry, I haven't ate much today.) or any other type of pop- (for those of you who don't use Mozilla or some other browser with built-in pop up control that is. :))! I've also set up a temporary work space on my mothers old PI 333 (ugh..) and have been working heavily on the Castle of Darkness II remake (actually I have The Gimp open right now with some of the graphics from the new version.. And don't worry, Linux isn't the only thing I've improved at over the past months ;)).

Well, I suppose that's it. What a long news article! Anyway, to make a long story short I messed up but I'll try and make up for it by working like a slave until I have something to show for all of this, namely at least one new game and a new site, so bear with me a little longer, good things are coming. :)

>Oh dear..
Where to start, where to start.. I haven't gotten around to updating the site for a long time, much of the information that was here before this update is obsolete. I would advise taking a look around, maybe you'll find something interesting=) I'll try and list all of the changes below.. Well then, might as well get started.
>Removed the forum
I have removed all links to the forum temporarily, I bounced around trying to find a good forum and ended up making a mess, so until i can sort everything out and get a stable more permanent forum the forums will be down.
>Updated Fortress
Well, still no AI improvements, but I fixed a really stupid mistake I made: I changed most of the unit buttons to images (as the old buttons resized, but the text didn't, making them look strange in different resolutions, and unreadable in some cases) but I forgot to do the five right most buttons, this has been fixed.
>Castle of Darkness 3 restarted (sort of)
Castle of Darkness 3 is back with a vengeance! It is now under development under the name 'Truth and Honor I', with a current total of 5 continents, 3 playable races, 4 languages, and a story that could be made into a book (or perhaps even a story from a book [my own book of course;)]). But this time the development isn't rushed, it hopefully won't take too long, but I won't set any dates, it'll come eventually=) This leaves me more time to work with other projects, so expect some of the many unfinished games to be finished soon! For more information and a (almost) complete feature list, along with some goodies, check out it's page.
>Mouse overs fixed
The mouse over images for the navigation buttons are now preloaded along with the rest of the pages content, meaning there there won't be any more of the "loading pauses" that used to happen when you moused over a button for the first time.
>New game: Warlords
A new strategy/Action game project has been started, For more information about it check out it's page.
>Game Maker and IsoMAZEric
I've learned about a new game development system called "Game Maker", and have gone over the basics of creating a game with it, resulting in a game called "IsoMAZEric ," While it's not finished yet it should be finished very soon, and then perhaps improved upon later=)
>Dark Spring Studios
I now have an affiliate! You can check them out via the link in the navigation bar or the links section, the games look very promising, don't forget to bookmark!=)
>I'm not alone!
I have been offered art services by two people, Magnus "Overtilt" Hølvold and "Fooyee"! Hopefully with their help you will see many games finished soon=)
>Minipoll change
I have removed the minipoll from the navigation bar, as on some pages the navigation bar stretched 2 - 3 times further than the actual page content, I'll add a page for the minipoll soon.

>Uploaded Fortress (Beta)
A Beta version of fortress has been uploaded and is availible for download, AI improvments are coming soon.
>Castle of Darkness 3 suspended
Castle of Darkness 3 has been 'Suspended' (cancelled but may be finished at a later time).

>New Project started!
A new project has been started: The Experiment, a space shooter with some features not found in many (if any) others.

-AI allies: your not alone
-3 weapon slots: each of which can be equipped individually with different weapons
-Muliplayer: Online or Offline
-Over 35 different weapons: in 5 different types
-A large storyline: find the truth
-Upgradeable ships: customize your ship to your playstyle
>Added Mini Poll
A Mini Poll was added to the navigation area.
Too many damn corners on this site It's.. Another corner *dramatic chord* Why are you mousing over corners? Another corner, how quaint
